/How-to/ Natural Body Balm

these were purchased by me.

I may have mentioned this before, but I'd like to say it again because I don't know when or where I said it: I have sensitive, problematic, eczema-prone skin. It spans from my face to my arms to my legs and back--it's everywhere. I didn't even know it was all eczema until a recent visit to my doctor (even though I know I was diagnosed with eczema as a child). As a result, I'm very particular about what sort of products I use on my skin, paying close attention to the ingredients. I like to use natural and/or organic moisturizers as much as I can on my body. I've used many different oils ranging from jojoba to vitamin E to coconut (a favorite of mine), but they never seemed to hydrate my skin enough. One day I had the crazy idea to combine coconut oil with shea butter. This is the what happened.

/Body/ Barr-Co. Original Scent Soap

this was purchased by me.

I'm picky about soaps. I look for sulfate and paraben free formulas. I have to like the scent. I take into account the physical aesthetics--it is going to be displayed in my bathroom, after all. I found out about Barr-Co. after looking around Antropologie's beauty and fragrance section. I'm in love with the lotion, which is too expensive for me at the moment ($24? *sigh* maybe one day), so I picked up the soap in the same scent.

/Body/ MOR Honey Nectar Hand Cream

this was purchased by me.

It's been a while since I last used a cream/lotion specifically for hydrating my hands. I usually like to have one with me because my hands can get really dry. So, for about a year and a half, maybe, I've been suffering from dry hands whenever I go out. I also often forget to moisturize my hands at night so I'm a constant dry skin sufferer (it must be because I'm so lazy).
One day I happened to go into Ulta, eventually making my way to the disheveled clearance section when this caught my eye. I have always been intrigued by MOR products because the packaging looks so nifty--it's kind of vintage looking with modern accents--and I always imagine they smell magical (at least from the descriptions of the scents).

/Body/ Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola! Sheer Body Lotion

this product was part of a gift set given to me by a family member

After using this for a few weeks, post shower, I'd like to share my experiences with this lotion with anyone who cares to read this. I was fortunate to receive this product as part of a fragrance gift set (which also included a a full 100ml bottle of eau de parfum and a mini flaçon of the stuff). It's also available to purchase separately for $45 at places like Sephora and Nordstrom. Marc Jacobs parfums are very sweet and girly to me. I like some of them, as I have a bottle of Daisy and Pomegranate in the gigantic 300ml, as they can can have a fresh quality. The only scent I don't like is Lola. I don't know, whenever I smell it there's sort of muskiness that lingers and I don't like it. Yes, I find it to smell like something made for those older than me even if it's supposed to smell like pink peppercorn, pear, ruby red grapefruit, rose, fuschia peony, geranium, vanilla, warm tonka bean, and creamy musk.
Oh, Lola! happens to appeal to me much, much more.
